The Book, the Seven Habits
By Dr. Steven Covey. A Happiness Self Help Book Review

Although the Seven Habits was originally written as a time management and personal leadership book, it could easily have been titled the Seven Habits of Highly Happy People.

The author, Stephen Covey, goes beyond the maxims of success and habit to observe that real success is about character, not just quick fixes or little tricks. His habits are also based on the observation that we get things done with and through other people, so effective people also have good relationships with others. Since then, positive psychology research has shown that good character in the form of using the universal strengths and virtues, and good relationships are the basis for a happy life as well.

The seven habits are remarkable advise in and of themselves. Still, advise can often be easy to say and hard to do. What makes this book so useful as a happiness self help guide are the principals and paradigms that Stephen Covey explains as he goes. He talks about how we perceive the world, how easy it can be to shift our perspective, and how the whole world can look different once we do. When we understand the importance of trust in our relationships and the importance of our relationships, it becomes much easier to do the right thing.

If you are suffering from frustration, alienation, broken promises or broken dreams,The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People is for you. It is a practical manual for taking control of yourself and your happy life.
