Thank a veteran for your free and happy life today.

We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.

November 11 is Veteran's Day in the US- the day set aside to honor all soldiers living and dead. Although the upcoming withdrawal from Iraq has been well publicized, there are still over 300,000 US troops deployed in 130 countries. Most are in harm’s way on our behalf. The most requested item is a letter with words of encouragement and appreciation, even from a total stranger. Write or email a service person today to express your appreciation. Do it now.

There are also thousands of disabled vets struggling to make ends meet after their deployment. If you are in a position to hire, please hire a veteran and honor the skills they have used on our behalf and the service they have rendered to their country.

Several studies have shown that people living in democratic nations are happier overall than people in countries with other forms of government. In the US, particularly during a recession, it is easy to take the peace and prosperity we all enjoy for granted.
