Do something different for your happy life.

No pleasure endures unseasoned by variety.

Publilius Syrus


Publilius Syrus was a Syrian slave in ancient Rome who won his freedom by his wit and improvisations. He was a man who understood deeply the importance of doing something different.

Modern science agrees with Publilius. Scientists have labeled the phenomena the hedonistic treadmill, or the principal that we get used to, and therefore bored with, everything after a while.

Improvisation, inversion, and the ability to do something different, is the heart of silliness and an important creative tool.

So pick something you do frequently and make a change, just for fun. Your pleasure will increase when you-
