Happy Life Tip of the Week, Issue #027- Practice Happiness

Hello

Practice Happiness and You Will Live a Happy Life

Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens. Circumstances and situations do color life but you have been given the mind to choose what the color shall be.

John Homer Miller

What an exciting thought—we can be happier just by changing our mind and deciding to do so. Unfortunately, for most of us, it just is not that easy. Still, scientists have discovered that we can make a difference in our overall happiness thorough our own actions. We can improve our happiness no matter what our circumstances by choosing our thoughts and actions. For more on how to Be Happier Now…

You can practice happiness by smiling, or thinking happy thoughts, visiting with a friend, practicing a hobby, singing a song, or doing anything else that you enjoy. Even practicing happiness for a few seconds-the time it takes to make a smile- can make a positive ripple in your day.

There are lots of resources on the habits that make people happier. We recommend the book, Happy For No Reason.html by Marci Schimoff for 21 happy habits. Or, take a break from your day and watch a story of 4 characters who show how to turn a bleak world into a happier one with The Tale of Despereaux. More than a fairytale.

No matter how your world looks today, remember you can make it a little better.

Practice happiness and you will live a happy life.
