Here are 50 ways to be silly because some silliness is essential for a happy life. People use silliness to laugh and laughter is a good antidote to stress. Silliness is different from humor because silliness has not point, no insult or insight. Silliness is innocent and light hearted and involves no injury. We laugh at cartoon characters falling and comedians doing Pratt falls because we know no one is injured. Silliness often involves the unexpected or unusual like the unexpected sensation of a tickle. Often there is a risk, or hint of danger like the drop in a roller coaster. Absurd things are silly like singing vegetables that tell stories. You can turn any ordinary activity or situation silly. Here are some specific suggestions for you to try:

  1. Wear a funny hat
  2. Sing a silly song
  3. Tickle someone
  4. Do a silly dance
  5. Do something backwards
  6. Stand on your head or try to
  7. Talk gibberish
  8. Put on a funny nose
  9. Put on a mask
  10. Juggle- or try to
  11. Make a funny face
  12. Make up a funny poem
  13. Skip around
  14. Spin in a circle
  15. Dress in funny clothes
  16. Make up a funny story
  17. Startle someone gently
  18. Put unrelated foods together
  19. Put clothes on your pet
  20. Paint or draw a silly picture
  21. Communicate only in pictures

  23. Talk normally but substitute some words in a funny way like blue for every color or teapot for every third noun.
