Thank you for wanting to know more about us.

I came to study happiness in the usual way. I was not happy and looking for a better way. When I read my first positive psychology book and learned that happiness was a skill I could learn, I was intrigued. I started to apply the principals in my own life and I felt better right away. Wow!

When I learned how people in developed countries are healthier, wealthier, more educated and more unhappy than ever before in history, I knew I was not alone in my quest for a happier way. I had to share.

I am a systems engineer, which means I love to find ways to make things work in repeatable and useful ways. I wondered, how could I engineer a happy life for me so others could do it too? After studying, experimenting on my own life, and tweaking my own systems, Happy Life U was born.

I believe in happiness as a powerful force for good in the world. I have observed that small changes in what I do and think can have big changes in how good I feel.

The more I practice happiness, the happier my life gets, the more I want to practice being happy. I am a traveler like you on the road trip to happiness.

I believe that the more happy people there are in the world, the more peaceful and prosperous, and healthy the world will be. This site is dedicated to helping you be happier now and for your happy life.

Happy Life U is a family affair. John and Erin help out with many of the great photographs appearing on the site. We like to travel as a family and John and Erin hunt photos on these trips like big game hunters on safari. Here we are in our beloved Rocky Mountains.
